Committee for IFIP

coordinates the contact between the Czech Republic and the worldwide organization IFIP.

Head: Prof. RNDr. Jaroslav Pokorný, CSc. (Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University)

Committee for IFIP acts as an interface and at the same time it coordinates the contact between the Czech Republic and the worldwide organization International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP). The IFIP belongs to the oldest expert organizations in information and communication technologies worldwide. The Czechoslovakia became its member in the year 1960, the year of the establishment of the organization.

The structure of IFIP consists of 13 Technical Committees (TCs) according to individual fields, which dynamically arise and disappear as informatics develops and how some groups of IT experts with the same professional interests are active. These commissions include national delegates. The technical committees are further divided into working groups. National delegates can also be found in these groups. The main activity of technical committees and working groups is the organization of professional events, such as conferences and workshops, under the auspices of IFIP.
