souhrn: A unified background of probabilistic modelling for fault detection is sketched. The background should help in orienting within the rich set of available methods and give guidelines for tuning their knobs. Preferences for multi-model based methods is justified and application of quasi-Bayes mixture estimation to fault detection presented.
